Since I was a child I had an enormous drive to self-development. And although many wonderful people surrounded me, no one could serve me as a role model and teach me things I was looking for. I was all on my own, trying to understand myself and the world, reading serious literature at 10, being busy with geo-political questions at 12 and writing a thesis in philosophy at 15. After having swallowed a huge amount of books I realised that my steps in self-development are still too slow and I lack some practical approach. Too much theory makes no sense. Then I tool to psychology and was soon disappointed at the negative nature of this kind of science. All trainings I went through looked interesting but had the yo-yo effect: all changed they have brought, vanished after some time. Something solid and substantial was badly missing in my life.

Thus at 20 I was desperately asking God to save me a Teacher. I realised I needed SOMEONE who could show me the right way and give not only some beautiful theory but also a real practical application of it. Shortly after feeling this I came to Sahaja Yoga which fulfilled all my spiritual self-development desires. I was more that happy to get he guidance of the most amazing Gurus of all times, Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi who was so generous in not only revealing endless secret knowledge about human nature, and actually gave fantastic instruments to an easy and quick self-development, which was my primary and the only wish.

However due to my highly idealistic and spiritual nature I soon realised how “immature” and naïve I was regarding the daily matters. At 22 I found myself all alone in a foreign country – divorced, brocken, without any means to existence. Many good people wanted to support me, and luckily did that. However I needed to stand up on my own….but… I obviously could not do it alone, because my views on life were too naive…And here comes another wonderful gift of destiny into play!

A met a person who became my best mentor ever in all “material” questions. When I first saw this person I thought: “Well probably he would help with a job?” – and how right this supposition was! We became friends, and out of the nature of this person, he on his own wish become my mentor. In the beginning of our friendship he used to invite me for a dinner and ask about my life views. Then he tried to show me the different perspective. He had a solid banking background and two MBA’s in Wealth Management – imagine, just the opposite of the direction which I would choose. In fact, he was really educating me – free of charge, but with a back thought: at some point he opened his own company and invited me to join. Then he kept training me as his assistant. He tought me how to ask right questions, how to see in the  “material” root of every issue, how to “check” people, how to keep the philosophical attitude to work and money. I recently realised that all I know about the material side of live I due to my dear mentor! I would never be able to learn it myself, at least not in one life. He made it very easy and applicable to me. No need to say I am still working for this person and more than happy about it :).

I don’t know about other’s experiences on that but my life shows that one needs a good mentor to come forward. I feel so lucky that both – my spiritual and material seeking have been fulfilled and this gave me a chance to become a mentor for others too. This is the way it works.

How to outsource your personal growth February 25, 2013

What a nonsense, you may say. How a personal growth can be outsourced? This is something highly personal which entirely depends on our own efforts and learning abilities. And yet I would claim it can be outsourced, let me tell you why and how.

The basic driving force in the human evolution has always been learning from experiences. Either exploring environment or building up their living comforts, people has been learning by doing. Some experiences became a success, but many more have been mistakes. Especially as far as psychological issues are concerned, talking of experiences people mostly mean pain.

I guess each of us can confess that learning from a painful lesson is a long-term thing, often it takes  not one or two, but many similar cases in order to realize the mistake and change the behavior. Learning from pain is painful and this is the way we have been learning since ages.

Is there any other chance to grow? Can this long, boring and painful way be outsourced? Can we develop ourselves through any outside help and – this would be the best – effortlessly?

YES, WE CAN!

The cool thing is that each and everyone of us has “something” inside our being which is not our being itself,  but a kind of an external part which is ready and happy to take over and do the personal/spiritual growth job for free! This part is tremendously powerful and intelligent, and it knows exactly how to help us out, even in our daily matters.

The sages and enlightened seekers of the past all knew about it and described their experience with this power in various cultures and religions, all in the same way. In the Indian tradition in Sanskrit language it is called KUNDALINI (here you can find an excellent description of this fantastic power).

Now how does it work?

1.You get your Kundalini awakened (here – how exactly, easy and fast)

2.You let her (this is a female energy) do the job: rising upwards your spinal chord Kundalini clears out your energy centers/chakras and removes your problems. The best thing is you can almost always precept it physically!

So basically you sit down in a nice meditation for some 10-15 min mornings and evenings and while this your Kundalini works. The perfect outsource, isn’t it? You do nothing, she does it all. You get up fully refreshed, happy, fully of energy and bliss! And by practicing this for some time you will find out that not only your old problems vanish, but an actual personal growth takes place – slowly but steadily. Even within a year or two a person can change dramatically to the best! And that -again – without any painful experiences.

This is my observation done for over 17 years since my Kundalini has been awakened. Within this time I had a couple of painful experiences but as far as I can judge, I did not learn that much out of them. I learned much more from Kundalini itself – the power which she carries is truth, auspiciousness, holiness, chastity, self-respect, detachment, oneness, enlightened attention, compassion, pure love and joy. This is all what I was lucky not only to experience through the Kundalini work but gradually to imbibe and manifest in my personal growth. This would not be possible for me by a mere human “learning by doing”, at least not in one life time.

Earthly pleasures are the shadows of happiness, because of their transitoriness.

True happiness is in love, which is the stream that springs from one’s soul;

and he who will allow this stream to run continually in all conditions of life, in all situations, however difficult,

will have a happiness which truly belongs to him, whose source is not without, but within.

The ego is like the rose and also like the thorns which surround the rose. It takes the place of the thorns when it is not
cultivated, and it becomes a rose when it is refined.

When the ego remains in the condition of a thorn, more thorns come; and more and more, till it increases its thorns to such an
extent that everyone who touches that person is dissatisfied. We all have friends to whom we should be most grateful if they
would keep away from us. We love them, we like them, but we would be very glad if they would keep away. What is it? It is
the thorns that hurt.

In what way do these thorns manifest? They manifest in the form of words, of actions, of desires, in the form of manner. Why
does one feel annoyed with certain people in life, even before they have uttered one word? Because the thorn is pricking.
Perhaps that person will say, ‘But I have not said anything, I have not done anything,’ but he does not know that he has thorns;
there are perhaps so many that even before he utters one word, before he moves, his presence pricks us. It is a natural
outcome of the ego. Either the ego develops thorns, or it develops into a rose; and when it develops into a rose, then everyone
is attracted to it because of its beautiful petals, its delicacy, its fragrance, its color, its softness, its structure. Everything about it
is attractive, appealing, and healing.

For every soul there are four stages to pass through in order to come to the culmination of the ego, which means to reach the
stage of the rose.

The first stage is that a person is rough, thoughtless and inconsiderate. He is interested in what he wants and
in what he likes; as such he is naturally blind to the needs and wants of others.

Did you catch the right tram? November 27, 2008

One wise friend told me once that in our life the whole thing is about… catching the right tram! The metaphor is so clear and so simple: if you have many problems, life is not getting better, then you are probably sitting in the wrong tram going to the wrong direction!

It can be job-wise, relationship-wise or the way one`s personal development goes: either the tram is driving you nicely or it is shaking, heading somewhere you don’t need to go…

If you have caught the right tram, things are coming ealisy to you, you meet the right people at the right moment, everything works out and you are enjoying your life a lot!

indeed, It is a good question to ask oneself: did I catch the right tram?

The Ideal Yogi October 27, 2008

This is a rather unknown quote by Mahatma Gandhi, one of my absolute favourites. The quote describes an ideal Yogi and, basically, it is what I am personally striving to become.

Some of these characteristics I already posses, many are still far to reach.

But any time I read these words, they put me into Absolute Silence….
