The Quest of Man January 4, 2014

The quest of man has been in his three dimensions: 1) his physical being 2) his
mental being 3) his emotional being.

Man’s first and foremost problem has been that of
sheer physical existence. In the past as well today the cruel forces of nature kept him
worried as to how to preserve his own existence. After some time, all human efforts to
preserve human life become deadly enemies of man’s existence. For example, mankind
created the atomic and the hydrogen bombs, and now they have turned out like deadly
monsters. He created many human institutions like kingdoms and states to free himself
from the fear of destruction for the whole human race. All his efforts were in vain though.

One could understand his fear from forces which were not human, but today man is
faced with the fear of destruction from his own fellow human beings. So he is experiencing
fear itself, and created by himself. The all-out effort to establish security for human life has
potentially created insecurities of an explosive nature.

Man’s need for physical enjoyment
has driven him to another extreme position where he has learned that no amount of
physical enjoyment results in joy (Ananda). On the contrary, human life fills with
unbearable tensions and frustration. The so-called affluent countries have the maximum
number of frustrated, desperate, sickened human beings. (more…)

What is fun? July 22, 2012

Innocence is the way you really give fun to others, create the fun part of it.  The fun is created only through innocence and innocence is the only way you can really emit also the fun.

Imagine this world without any fun, what would happen?

But people are very much confused between fun and the pleasure.  The pleasure is nice to begin with and horrible to end with.

But fun is a treasure. Anything that is full of fun you remember all your life.

Who is a true friend? The quote which says it all. February 2, 2012

Friendship is a popular topic, a lot has been said about it. I found a quote which seems to express it short and best:

An interesting Mahatma Gandhi saying May 20, 2011

“To see the universal and all-pervading Spirit of Truth face to face one must be able to love the
meanest of creation as oneself. And a man who aspires after that cannot afford to keep out of any
field of life.

That is why my devotion to Truth has drawn me into the field of politics; and I can say
without the slightest hesitation, and yet in all humility, that those who say that religion has nothing
to do with politics do not know what religion means.”

– Mahatma Gandiji, autobiography.

I find it very interesting, especially in connection with my earlier post on Daneel Andreev’s quote about love to evil which is only a highly enlightened soul is able to:In the distant future even more spiritual possibilities will arise. Even love for demons will become viable and necessary. History has already seen some saints who grew to such a love. ”

Wonders December 26, 2010

Man looks for wonders; if he only saw how very wonderful is the heart of man!

***

There is no source of happiness other than the heart of man.

***

He who makes room in his heart for others, will himself find accommodation everywhere.

***

There is no greater phenomenon than love itself.

***

Love develops into harmony, and of harmony is born beauty.

***

In beauty is the secret of divinity.

who knows the song of your heart. And who will remind you of it even when you yourself have forgotten…

Whoever told that must be a genius! I just love the saying.

And I have to admit… one of my biggest desires is to be a real friend to everyone.

I really want to know the songs of my friend’s hearts and to be able to remind them of it.

This blog – is my humble contribution to this mission.

What’s your favorite quote? Why? May 3, 2010

There is something about quotes…

Why do we like them? Because quotes make us wiser? Because quotes express something we always knew but could not utter? Because quotes are the gem of human intellectual heritage?

I invite you here to share your favourite quotes (one or several and possibly explain why do you like these particular ones).

Let me start with my examples. Most of them I posted already earlier.

  • Happiness lies in thinking or doing that which one considers beautiful. (Hazrat Inayat Khan)
  • Even if you are an Angel, there will always be someone who doesn’t like the sound of your wings rustling….(author unknown)
  • People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. (Audrey Hupburn)
  • By self-realization a man becomes larger than the universe. The world in which he lives becomes as a drop in the ocean of his heart. (Hazrat Inayat Khan)
  • Intellectuals are those nice people who think they reach their destination merely by studying the road map. (Gregoir de Kalbermatten)
  • The ideal life is in following one’s own ideal. It is not in checking other people’s ideals (Hazrat Inayat Khan)
  • You are love. You come from love. You are made by love. You cannot cease to love. (Hazrat Inayat Khan)

These 7 quotes I have chosen, when I read them altogether I realize that they represent my being very well. Probably that’s the secret behind a quote? That it reflects our present state and we enjoy the harmony between the quote and our soul? What is your idea?

Thanks and loads of LOVE,

axinia

One more interesting prophecy of the upcoming golden age April 27, 2010

Several decades from now, the ever-increasing rate of economic growth will reach a level we will be fully justified in calling global prosperity. Living standards now enjoyed by citizens of the economically advanced nations will be established in the remotest corners of the globe.

The rechanneling of the massive sums that are now spent on weapons into peaceful uses will impart almost unimaginable acceleration to economic growth. Universal elementary education will likely be achieved even before that. Eventually, even universal secondary education will be felt to be insufficient. The borders of the intelligentsia will encompass all of humanity.

The development of newer and newer means of communication, along with their accessibility and practicability, will virtually eliminate the distance between nations and cultures. As the working day shrinks, new reserves of time will be freed up. Physiological science will devise technology that will enable the human brain to memorize input quicker and indelibly. Leisure time will increase.

And those matters that now occupy the majority of people—the economy, politics, product improvement, technology, the further upgrading of material comforts—will lose their interest. It is entirely realistic to think that the generations of those times will find it baffling and strange that their ancestors could have been so engrossed by and emotional about decisions relating to such boring and trivial matters. Their energy will be channeled into the creation of riches of a higher order, since the economic base, being firmly grounded and global, will not be subject to any sharp fluctuations.
Issues connected with technology and economics will cease to engage people’s overriding attention. They will be dealt with in their respective committees and will be subject to public scrutiny, just as issues of restaurant hygiene or sewage are now.

10 quotes to dissolve your thoughts November 19, 2009

Sincerity is the jewel that forms in the shell of the heart.

***

Life is an opportunity given to satisfy the hunger and thirst of the soul.

***

There are many paths, and each man considers his own the best and wisest. Let each one choose that which belongs to his own temperament.

***

All earthly knowledge is as a cloud covering the sun.

***

Life is a misery for the man absorbed in himself.

***

Happy is he who does good to others; miserable is he who expects good from others. (more…)
