The paradox of love September 25, 2011

Everybody wants to be loved and loved by everyone. Today probably more than ever. All we do in order to become attractive, successful, powerful –  all that is only aimed to get love, to become loved.

But if you ask a person especially the one who is trying hard to get love – “are you ready to love everyone?”  – quests what the answer will be…

Yes, this is the paradox of Love:

Everyone wants to be loved by all, but not everyone is ready to love all.

Well, may be this is the main trouble with the mankind?

White frost: when Nature is a painter January 1, 2011

The phenomenon of frost has been fascinating me since ever…it is so fragile and fine, and yet very powerful because it transforms the whole surrounding and makes a true masterpiece out of every leaf ( of cause any leaf is a masterpiece already, but we are used to their common look)!

It has been a long time dream of mine to capture this moment of white frost in the nature, and I am glad I finally got it! – althouhg, honestly, these images are so far from the real beauty the Mother Nature created and my eyes could see…

All these images I have taken on the 31st of December 2010 – my present to myself for the New Year 🙂

I have been missing snow in the last years here in Vienna. Somehow it became warmer and warmer year by year. Suddenly in 2010 just to the calendar begin of winter we have received a wonderful present   –  much snow, even in the city!

Here is my small slidewhow of the recent pictures, hopefully I will take many more of the snowy ones this season.

My Roman Holidays January 3, 2010

As every world city, Rome has its flair and very special style… I would call it MAGNIFICENT  – the word that came to my mind the first time I saw Rome many years back and now, having spent a week there I can confirm it. Magnificent – is the first and only word that comes to my mind when thinking of Rome’s beauty.

The weather was rainy most of the time, but even the clouds have been magnificent, making up a great background for the pictures…

I visited many historical places and as well as the modern parts. Interestingly, the Vatican looked as the darkest and most unfriendly place from all. I wonder how can people seek for God in there?

Please enjoy the pictures and thanks for the comments :)!

Why I love Germany September 10, 2009

Germany is not the country that is…eh…commonly loved. Apart from the sadly known historical background it can’t boast with great nature, climate, awesome sightseeing or else. Germany is just not a place one normally visits as a tourist. In Europe the masses head to Italy or France, may be UK… But Germany?

To me personally Germany has always been an attraction. There are many facts in my biography connected to Germany, I posted some of it here.I believe it is not only for my love to German language, but actually it is my love to German people that takes me there again and again…

I went ot Berlin few days back and was again pleasantly surprised by the amazing friendliness and readiness to help of Germans.

What I really like about Germans is how they are clearcut in their expressions, direct in communication and well structured. It goes well with some parts of my own character I think. And these are also the things that I miss in any other country I visited!

One more thing that fascinates me is the sense of Friendship. Germans are great friends, once they have enclosed you in their hearts – it is forever. It reminds me a lot of Russian friendship.

As usual I traveled with my camera and took some pictures for you. These are probably not the typical sights of Berlin, but that is what I found cute or interesting.

What makes travelling by plane so special? August 28, 2009

Of all means of transport I love travelling by plane, and that is my big love since my early childhood. My excitement about flying is difficult to describe… I was always wondering what makes it so special?

On my last holiday trip I took a plane again and, taking pictures of magnificent landscapes I suddenly realised what makes the magic of flying to me:

1. From above we can have a totally different perspective to the Earth, to the places we love and live in. In a way it’s a shift in consciousness, like watching from somebody else’s eyes…We can suddenly see that our huge cities are so ridiculous small and that this is really NOTHING compared to the vast natural landscapes, mounts, seas, forests and deserts… What do we think of ourselves, that we can rule that nature??? The level of human ego and stupidity is the highest at that point.

2. Watching the wide horizon or the clouds play or the soft haze over the mountains, we can get entirely thoughtless –  the head clears out and thoughts stand still before the breathtaking views…

I wonder what my readers say about their own  experiences of flying by plane?

In the meanwhile, enjoy my recent pictures:

Intercultural differences seen from airplane June 15, 2009

Everylity time I take off in Vienna, I am fascinated by the structured geometry of the Austrian fields.

Love for clear lines and order is probably the reflection of the German blood in the Austrian character. Just look at this snap I took yesterday:

Amazing, isn’t it?

Just one hour by car away from Vienna we find Slovakia, a small Slavic country. It shares the same main river Danube with Austria, but obviously not much of Austrian mentality: (more…)
