Another realization from my motherhood experience March 4, 2012

My sweet daughter is almost one year old now. So far I have been fully enjoying the motherhood experience and learning a lot from that.

I have realized certain things and have posted about some here, here and here. Today, rounding up this year, happy to share one more insight.

Watching my daughter grow, I can see clearly that despite her taking physically after her father and temperament-wise after her mother, she possesses her own already developed personality. I wonder how people who have children can really belive they come totally “new” into this world?! Nothing doing, more than ever I am convinced now that one soul is getting born again and again, reincarnation is not a mere theory.

One amazing thing about my baby is her conscious vegetarianism.

I should admit I am a convinced non-vegetarian myself. I tried to reject meat many years back but this did much harm to my health so I realized that at least for myself this would not work. And I never regret that, enjoying some chicken or even beef now and then. When I got pregnant, after the second month (normally when the soul is believed to enter the embryo’s body) I suddenly stopped eating meat and fish. I could not swallow a piece!  Well I thought, this is definitely not me 🙂 Thus the embryo grew as a pure vegetarian, being perfectly fit. When the time came for the baby to start taking other food additionally to milk, I was advised to try giving all kinds of food, also chicken and fish. And – imagine! – she rejects completely! Quite a conscious choice, I would say, because otherwise she is a good eater.

Now tell me what is the reason behind this? I cannot see any other except that this soul has come not only with a certain character, but with a set of habits and ideas as well, and probably a even a certain mission.

I am  sure my experience and realization about it is not unique. Please share yours!

Highly insightful: why it’s so hard to become happy, what is dramatically wrong in our child-care and how to overcome it June 23, 2010

There are very few books that can deliver some truly fresh, insightful information. Most of the things have been repeated for ages. One of this rare, uniquely insightful books is “The Continuum Concept: In Search of Happiness Lost” by Jean Liedloff. (1975)

 

Jean Liedloff, an American writer, spent two and a half years in the South American jungle living with Stone Age Indians. The experience demolished her Western preconceptions of how we should live and led her to a radically different view of what human nature really is.

And that is:

• the aggressiveness is NOT in a human nature, and even children may never fight! “Not only did they not fight, they never even argued. This is not at all what we have been taught human nature is — boys will be boys. So I thought well maybe, boys won’t be boys.”
• every human being is born as a happy, confident, stable personality. “Society is unpleasant, dangerous, unhappy, alienated, and unstable because in childhood our nature — being confident, joyous and loving — has been undermined and we simply live the way we are expected to. What we believe is what we make our experience into. And what we believe is what we have been taught to believe by our parents and our experiences.”

Jean Liedloff claims that it all our problems can be traced back to the general misconduct of child-care and upbringing. We’ve got disconnected to the natural/true method ages ago, no wonder the evolution has taken a somewhat weong track…

She discovers that the basic difference in what the indigenous people do and we don’t – is the so called “in-arms period”: from the birth till the baby starts crawling, a mother carries it 24 hours a day on her body (including sleeping in one bed). A child gets an enormous dose of security and happiness, since there is nothing more important and beautiful for it than the mother.

 

 Let’s have a look at the common practice in the modern Western childbirth and child-care. A baby experiences:

The primordial archetype of the collective mind February 2, 2010

In spite of all the attempts to drive the Mother Goddess underground, or to eliminate her altogether, she still occupies the essential place in the collective mind. We should remember that our civilisation has arisen from the Neolithic culture, in which the Mother Goddess was the only deity. In this respect, our culture was not different for that which gave rise to the great civilisations of India, China and pre-Columbian America. We should not forget that, except for our own modern society, the Mother Goddesses been revered everywhere, and at all times.

This is what led C.G.Jung to recognise in the Mother the primordial archetype of the collective mind. His desciple, Erich Neumann, in his study of the archetype of the Mother Goddess recognised that the West neglected the matriarchal aspect of the collective consciousness and developed only the patriarchal aspect.

However, none of the attemps to banish the religion of the Mother from the human soul has ever been completely successful.

Freudian theory and its crime against motherhood September 30, 2008

“The idea gains ground that the doctrine and theory of psychoanalysis has been the greatest intellectual confidence trick of the 20th century”– P.B.Medawar, Nobel Prize in medicine.

Everyone agrees that Sigmund Freud has had a profound impact on Western society and intellectual life. However people are mostly unaware of his theory and, moreover, of the true dimetion of this impact. In fact, the Freudian theory has takend the role of a modern religion in the 20th century.

Interestingly, a century after its invention, psychoanalysis is being challenged on scientific grounds, and criticised with regard to its clinical efficacy. All scientific research conducted with any degree of rigour has shown Freudian theory to be fraudulent. Freud was opposed to the statistical comparison of groups pf patients which is basic to credibility in modern medicine.

What is Freudian theory about?

According to Freud, children begin to enjoy sexual pleasures in early ages. The first stage of childhood sexuality is oral,  during which pleasures come from the mouth. Nursing at the mother`s breast is said to intruduce sexual pleasure. The fatuity of such statements is breathtaking!

After the oral stage, the child is described as passing through  the anal stage and, at the age of 4 years, reaching the Oesipal phase. The young boy allegedly “falls in love” with his mother, and wants to sleep with her. Her therefore views his father as a rival and an enemy who would like to castrate him.

Freud constantly denigrated the role of the mother. As the height of absurdity, he believed that a woman`s desire to have a child was a way to compensating for her lack of a penis! This claim was developed and amplified by many adherents of Freud`s theory.

The impact of the theory on the Western Society

Watson in the USA went so far as to write, in 1928, that maternal love was most dangerous, and could have irreversible consequences on children. His book Psychological Care of Infant and Child enjoyed great success, with sales of over 100.000 and greatly influenced generations on American mothers.

Happy Independance Day, Mother India! August 15, 2008

Patriotism is on of the highest feelings, almost spiritual. Patriotic songs mostly give a goose skin and a rise of overwealming feelings. Apart from the Russian anthem which I naturally find very powerful, another song which has a deep impact on me is the national song of India (though distinct from the national anthem of India) – VANDE MATARAM.

As today is the Independance Day of India, I dedicate this post to my numerous Indian readers and friends – you have a great Motherland, please keep the deepness, beauty and glory of it up!

We always think of a saint as a man – at least that is the first thought that normally comes to our mind. Have there never been holy women? Or if there are – why are they so unknown?

I found some intresting insight into that topic:

Although their spiritual greatness was marginalized in western culture, this movement grew to an extent unprecedented in western history.

Russia`s Seven Wonders exposed June 13, 2008

Russia tries to revive patriotism and love to the motherland in its citizens. The celebration of the Independence day yesterday, 12 June was crowned by the announcement of the Russia`s Seven Wonders. The country-wide voting has been done online and via sms since 1. February 2008, more than 25 million of Russians voted for their favourites.

As I found no information about it in English (!), I desided to blog about it and packed some short texts and pictures together in a post  – for all those who want to know something positive about Russia … 

Seven Wonders of Russia include: The Valley of Geysers in the Kamchatka region, Lake Baikal, the complex of palaces in Peterhof, Columns of Erosion in the Komi Republic, Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Statue of Motherland in Volgograd and Mount Elbrus.

My personal favourite is THE MOTHER MOTHERLAND CALLS Statue (see below), as I feel it manifest the love and respect for the feminine principle in Russia.

And now the voting results in detail : Russia`s 7 Wonders (natural and man-made):

• Columns of Erosion /Plateau Man-Pupu-Nep/- geological wonder in the Komi Republic. The columns of 30-42 m high create a spectacular view and serve as a source of legends and esoterica experiences.

• Mamayev Hill-the MOTHER MOTHERLAND statue.The Mamayev Kurgan features a memorial complex commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad (August 1942 to February 1943), arguably the bloodiest battle in human history. At the time of its installation in 1967 the statue of the Mother Motherland formed the largest free-standing sculpture in the world.

 

I am a blog-mama! May 22, 2008

Once upon a time one lady-researcher introduced blogging to me (thanks God, it was WordPress that I learned). Since then I have been badly into blogging – increasingly.

I started with the idea of emancipating women from emancipation (Shaktipower) and then realised that I can/want actually keep more than one blog – because there is much more I want to share.

Intrestingly, my feeling of a blog in the beginning was like of a home where I invite people to be my guests and to share with me the delight of life… I even wrote a post on that – The sense of Blogging. Some more time passed and I noticed that my attitude to blogging changed – now I feel blogs are like my babies 🙂 I feed them with new content, check their health (stats and comments), take care of their looks and of their friends… A very parential attitude, isn`t it?
