the only truth I know is my own experience

Sorry, but I have to post it: the best of Russian propaganda March 4, 2009

Sorry for those readers who don`t know  Russian, but I really have to post this absolutely brilliant video:

it is a new propaganda clip which was forbidden because of being “too negative” – to me it is the best example of the a HARD TRUTH about us all, especially about the youth.

To me it seems to be highly motivating  – it burns the heart to start DOING something for my country.

BECAUSE THERE IS NO ONE ELSE WHO WOULD DO IT INSTEAD OF ME.

Great, simply great! It reminds me of the Matrix film…

I know it is propaganda, but damn it…it is so inspiring!!!

The unknown talent of Leonardo da Vinci: story-telling September 9, 2008

Apart from being an absolutely outstanding personality, the great Leonardo da Vinici was famous for something, that got lost among his other brilliant and impressive talents like painting, science, inventing, music, etc. – namely for his very simple and wise fables, which he wrote in a similar vein to those of Aesop.

Almost five centuries after they were first penned some of Leonardo’s fables still exist and are told in the Tuscan countryside. Few people remember who was the author of these tales which were once told in the courts of France and Italy.

Leonardo`s fables are very short, but involve complicated ideas and each one focused briefly on dangers like greed, jealousy and selfishness, or the benefits of compassion, kindness, honesty and generosity. It should be noted that fables are written, not so much for the entertainment of children, but to impart wisdom to adults.

Here is one of them: (more…)

The Colours of Vienna (slideshow) July 6, 2008

As  a typical European City, Vienna basically lacks colour. It is rather pale for my taste. Although there are quite a lot of greenery and flowers, most of the bright colours can be seen in the shop windows… I have made a collection of some colourful spots in Vienna. You will not see many people on the photos – Vieneese do not favour colourful cloths in general. It gets better in summer though 🙂

Please, enjoy Vienna – the City of my love:

Patriotism or false indentifications July 4, 2008

I love the country of my parents – it is my soul and my pride

I love the country of my birth – it is my sweetness and memory

I love the country of my life – it is my cosyness and beauty

I love the country of my dreams – it is my spiritual home

I feel like a patriot of each of them-

Russia, Lithuania, Austria and India

And yet I know that I am above that.

`cause I am the Spirit.

A unique blog about Russia July 2, 2008

image by axinia (landing in Moscow)

How many good things do you know about Russia? If you google “Russia positive”  – you will find mostly the news about HIV positives in Russia , if you try it with Google page on “Good Russia”  – there are more sceptical than really good news either.

Russia has been and still is a mystery for the rest of the world. Basically it lays on the Russia`s national policy: as a self-sufficient country, Russia sees no need in self-promotion (as some other countries do). That is why so much of the fascinating information remains unknown to the non-Russian speaking people.

Seeing all that, and actually being fed up with the negative news on Russia, I decided to start a special project – a multy-authors Blog under the title “1000 things you never knew about Russia”.  Actually I was planning a post “10 things about Russia you never knew”, but discovered that 10 are too less – these are innumerate facts and interesting observations… May be I will still start with this post here, on 1000petals – but the blog will be created too!

I am looking for the co-authors (Russians who can write in English) or Russophiles 🙂 It can become a big thing, and a very valuable source for many researches and just curious souls. It wonder if it would be possible to make such a blog to the opinion leader in the field or  – another possibility –  if would be possibly banned (even by WordPress, like this one – an American writing about Russian Women)…

So basically that was a short promotion of something that does not exist yet 🙂 Hope with your support I will find out how good this idea actually is.

Thanks and LOVE, axinia

Vibrations is like a toy which is always with you June 24, 2008

I met a child, a boy of 10 years who has got his realisation and enjoyed feeling vibrations. When i told him what actually one can do with vibrations, he got even more fascinated an exclaimed “I know now, vibrations is like a toy which is always with you!” – it was sooooo sweet and so much to the point 🙂 I heard many comments on vibrations but never such a candid and lovely one…

But what did I tell to the child?  – What can one do with vibrations?

Let me shortly remind you what vibrations are. Normally vibrations are being perceived like a sensation of a gentle cool breeze in one`s hands, on top of one`s head or sometimes around the body. Sometimes it can be warm or even hot. Never heard of that? You can try it out here (interactive presentation).

Vibrations is a kind of the genuine flow of your being, which can be easily felt on the central nervous system. To me it is like the physical manifestation of spirituality.

These are the things you can do with vibrations: (more…)

The Expansionist Meme – or the things I never tried but may be will do June 17, 2008

northen lights by Kjell Arne Thomassen

Nita tagged me again (thanks!) – an interesting meme which forces one to “think out of the box”. I like the idea but the way the meme tries to encourage one to trying new things out “because of this meme” seems rather suspicious to me (NLP?)… So I did not like it at the first sight. At the second sight I saw some interesting points in there and I have done it!

Meme instruction: Please thoughtfully consider the following, and choose one item for each of the categories below. (Be sure to describe your reasons for choosing)

  • One religious work from a non-familiar tradition you’ll read:

Interesting question… Due to my spiritual practice of Sahaja Yoga I am familiar with all the religions traditions – in fact I am also practicing all of them! 🙂 I`ve read all the “main” religions books (Koran, Bible, Gita, Kabbala, some on Buddhism)  as well as many less known… These books are indeed great, but I want my personal experiences now.

  • One music video-that you like-from your “least likely to listen to’ genre:

No idea.

  • A book from a genre you almost never read, that you have read, or you will read (promise!):

I was a book-glutton once, now I hardly read a book per year 🙂 I guess I tried all possible styles already… I actually want to read a book written by a friend of mine! – for example by Nita or by Solveig, or any other friend of mine who will finally write one!! I think it is the best genre – books written by personal friends 🙂 (more…)

Where is your attention? June 12, 2008

Our attention is that part of consciousness which we direct at specific things around us. When we are listening intensely to something, we can say that we have our full attention on it. When we are focused on looking at a small object, the same applies. Our attention usually suffers in our day to day activities. It suffers because it is being pulled, jostled, screamed at, and battered by the world in which we live.

WHERE IS OUR ATTENTION DURING THE DAY?

 – As soon as we get up in the morning the breakfast TV or radio starts screaming for our attention, which a stream of salacious news stories, beguiling adverts and a constant flow of general trivia… Stores fronts scream out their aggressive sales messages at us, offering blandishments and signs for Final Sale, 50% Off! or New Season bargains in a thousand attempts to attract our already battered consciousness.

– This constant bombardment fractures our attention in a very subtle way. In fact we suffer more than we know, because after a while we lose the ability to settle down and find peace anywhere. One of the first signs is that we may have trouble sleeping, our mind racing with the events of the day. (more…)

Are bloggers all charismatic persons? June 5, 2008

Bloggers are being studied, followed, mocked, copied or misunderstood – whatever is the reaction, mostly bloggers do not leave people indifferent.

Obviously blogging requires a certain amount of self-exposure, which may be even useful in some healthy portions 🙂 Today, thanks to the growing collective awareness Individualisation started melting into globalisation  – and such a mix of both qualities makes blogging to the perfect tool reflecting these contradictions. A blogger is a very individualistic and at the same time group-oriented, open to the whole world, connected to the whole world person.

However not everyone becomes a blogger. What drives a person to blog and who becomes a hard blogging artist?

I guess the secret behind a (good, popular) blogger is in his/her … charisma. If we look at the main characteristics of a charismatic personality – it looks like a portrait of a typical blogger! (more…)
