What`s in Russian eyes? September 28, 2008

In 2001 Mr. G.Bush surprised the world with his memorable description of his Russian counterpart. “I looked the man in the eye,” Mr. Bush said of Putin after their meeting in Slovenia, adding, “I was able to get a sense of his soul.”

In 2008, John McCain told the Republican Jewish Coalition that he saw something else entirely when he met the Russian leader: “I looked into Mr. Putin’s eyes and I saw three things — a K and a G and a B.”

Shortly after Obama said that he wants to pay attention to Putin’s actions, not his eyes. Foreign policy should not be set by an opinion of a leader’s eyes.

I believe there was no other president in the history whose eyes have been such a popular topic 🙂

Another take: I once met a professional in the field of Intercultural communication, she looked at me and said “You must be Russian, you have typical Russian eyes”. (more…)

The most beautiful part of the human body August 23, 2008

To me eyes is the most beautiful part of the human body, because the eyes manifest the connection between the body and the soul, between the matter and the spirit.

There is a proverb saying that the eye is the mirror of the soul, alternatively that to understand what the person is like it is enough to look into his or her eyes. The eye tells us not only about the character of a person, but can reflect the physical state of the whole body. Some doctors use the eye for diagnostics. This method, which was used in olden times, is still used by a few physicians under the name “irridodiagnostics”. In some way, the eye is something like database of the human being.

I have found two interesting scientific facts on the human eyes.

1. Russian sientist and famous eye surgeon Ernest Muldashev has done a comparative study on all eye shapes of the human races and published a book“«Whom we are originated from»where he comes to an interesting conclusion that the “average” human eye is that of a Nepalese. Later Muldashev develops a far-fetched theory on the origin of mankind which seem a bit absurd to me, but I really like his eye comparative analysis. (more…)
