BURAQ

The fanaticism that we see in modern Islam is a new development in a religion that, in its early history, was famous for its tolerance and respect for other religions. In Islam’s classical period in medieval Spain and Egypt perhaps only Buddhism rivalled Islam’s tolerance. The fundamentalism that characterises the behaviour of many of today’s Muslims is in fact anti-Koranic.

While the Muslim vision is often perceived to be authoritarian and punitive the Koran, on close inspection, is filled with descriptions and vision of God’s more feminine attributes such as gentleness, providence, love, universal compassion and tender-heartedness.

The religious intolerance that characterises the behaviour of many Muslim communities today is inconsistent with the heritage of tolerance that is professed by the Islamic tradition. For example, the Koran clearly states in several passages that any person who lives a life of holy reverence is welcomed into paradise regardless of their religion. Muhammad openly praises both Judaism (Abraham is deeply respected within the Koran) and Christianity (Muhammad frequently praises Jesus and Mary in the Koran).

Even more surprising is the Koran’s reverence for Mary, mother of Christ. Muhammad (and also in later Islamic theological scriptures) regarded Mary as the most marvellous of all women, a high adept and living example of the pure and holy life. Later Koranic commentaries describe Mary as an intervening force between God (Allah) and humanity. This intervening force is characterised by Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, sweetness and humility- the embodiment of Allah’s love for creation.

In one of the most powerful Hadiths ( prophetic sayings of Muhammad) it is reported that Muhammad said, “Paradise is at the feet of the Mother”. Does this suggest that the feminine aspect of God is an important and essential pathway to the attainment of supreme consciousness?

Muhammad’s peak defining experience, called the Meraj, saw him elevated through the seven heavens to the realm of God Almighty at the resplendant Sidrath where he communed with God, received his divine visions and instructions and was placed on the inexorable course of his life-mission to establish Islam. Muhammad was escorted by the archangel Gabriel (a masculine force) but the vehicle upon which Muhammad rode was the beautiful “Buraq”. The Buraq was a white horse with wings and the face of a woman! Clearly suggesting that the great power by which Muhammad was elevated to the level of supreme consciousness was ultimately feminine in nature! Some scholars say that the Buraq is an Islamic symbol of the Kundalini, a force that Eastern Yogis describe as the Goddess or Divine Mother.

Sunni Islam has also drawn inspiration from the female. The philosopher Muid ad-Din ibn al-Arabi (1165-1240) saw a young girl in Mecca surrounded by light and realised that, for him, she was an incarnation of the divine Sophia. He believed that women were the most potent icons of the sacred, because they inspired a love in men which must ultimately be directed to God, the only true object of love.

While official Islam may not consistently describe the role of the Divine Feminine, this principle has been described and explored at length in the more esoteric Islamic tradition of Sufism. Sufism emphasises passionate, mystical adoration of God. Many Sufis (and other mystics in other religions) seek a spiritual union between themselves and the divine principle not unlike that between a child (the Sufi) and his mother (God) or a bride (Sufi) and the husband (God).

A Sufi Ode to the Divine Mother

On the face of the earth there is no one more beautiful than You
Wherever I go I wear your image in my heart
Whenever I fall in a despondent mood I remember your image
And my spirit rises a thousand fold
Your advent is the blossom time of the Universe
O Mother you have showered your choicest blessings upon me
Also remember me on the Day of Judgement
I don’t know if I will go to heaven or hell
But wherever I go, please always abide in me.

    Great post!
I just wonder if there is a reference to this in the main article:
“the Koran clearly states in several passages that any person who lives a life of holy reverence is welcomed into paradise regardless of their religion”

Dear Axinia, consideing your point of view, in regards of behaviour of todays muslims, one needs to understand that this religions of today, have nothing to do with the sources, from which they are said, they sprout out. They didnt…..they were immediately stolen after the death of great man and woman (or even before!), by the hypocrites, which love power, possitions and structures. They befooled blind masses, which started to follow them (the self proclaimed leaders, shepperds…) and their totally deformed ideas, instead of following that great man and woman, whose names are used by that hypocrites to befool the masses. The masses are usually so ignorant and stupid, that they follow the liar leaders even if the incarnation told them they should NOT DO IT, even milion times, all in vain. They follow those hypocrites (instead of following the great incarnations, and their teachings), even if the hypocrites absolutely clearly, openly, publicly, delete the main, key message of the incarnation, and all that even in the life-time of the people who knew the incarnation personally, who heard Him/Her personally telling something totally different than the words and directions of that hypocrites.

Are today´s muslims the followers of Muhammad, or they just follow their leaders? Are todays christians followers of Christ and His teaching, or they follow church guys? Are today´s Sahaja Yogis followers of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, which was an incarnation of Primordiam Mother, for the first time in one person, the Holy Ghost, or they just follow their leaders, which Shri Mataji disbanded in 2008 Guru Puja? Are the followers of Krishna, or Rama, or Lao Tse following them, or they just follow some leaders and their stupid explanations of words they never understood? Lets not be surprised than…..we can see it life!

It is but part of the game. Blind idiots will follow hypocrites and their constructions, and so deny the true source of Resurection. They all concentrate nicely around those hypocrites, pharisees. This is the Last judgement, as we all were told so many times, clearly, and were very precisely instructed how to go through, directly by Mother Herself, and following the hypocrites and pharisees, (which never even listen to Her), was not in the instructions. It will bring quite different fruit than the Redemption, and this time it will not be just usual hanana, as She said, you remember? So dont worry, all is well, this or that way, we are judged and the propper fruit will come…. It is so clearly described in the Bible, more clear it is not possible to say:

    Mat: 13: 24-29
    The Parable of the Weeds

24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.

27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.

“The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”

Axinia, what do you think are the “bundles” (to be burned)?😀 When I look at that huge groups, and organizations concentrated around that hypocrites and pharisees, leading people somewhere completely else than the incarnations did, I cant help myself staring at them in total amazement, and I can see the tie around them. Amazing. So, no worry – all is well – the others are in Sahasrara already, not tied to any hypocrite, safe😉

  6. vishumaya …illusion …doing all those things ..even for realized souls it is difficult to maintain their position and balance as they also don’t know when ego covers them and they start down tract remaining in illusion that whatever they are doing is truth only and others are wrong..This is play of vishnumaya …I am sure not a single any religion or prophet or so called Leader are going to save or evolve oneself that job should be done by oneself only and of course it needs support of devine blessings also, only humble wish and pure desire is also not enough.( Most of people lack in both . so following to anybody or anything like blind sheep thinking that is only truth…and we get the present sinario .
Dont worry one day either all are going to evolve or destroy depending upon their actions …
    Thanks

You make me laugh Axinia!! A culture which calls women Awrat which leterally means Vagina can never be respectful to women. Do you think sleeping with an under 9 year old girl is giving repsect to women? Do you think raping young girls after killing their menfolk is a respectful act? Get your facts right and then start commenting on a subject. Prophet Mo’s life is full of such incidents, I think he was the vilest man ever to walk on this planet. He only spread hatred for other beliefs and the whole world is still suffering because of this man’s ideology and principles.
