the only truth I know is my own experience

The secret of my self-confidence May 17, 2012

I was often told that one of the most fascinating things about me is the refreshing self-confidence. Some readers consider this blog interesting mostly because of that – the way I share my experiences, the self-confident straightforwardness which does not make others feel guilty is what apparently makes my blog attractive.

Some people ask me about the secret behind this quality:  How can I be so self-confident and at the same time not going into ego , the border is very fine as we all know…It’s time to reveal the secret!

I guess there are two things that make it:

1. I know myself very well. Since I was a child I was busy with discovering who I am, what my strengths and weaknesses are, I have always been introspective and seeking. This brought me a great advantage – the AWARENESS. I am aware of what I am. I know very well what makes my personality and what is still to improve. I know well what I am bad at. Or good at. This AWARENESS is what makes me confident.

But this is not enough! There is the second part of it which is quite rare in people, at least in the West.

2. I do not feel guilty. If I do something wrong, I have no problem with apologizing, do it immediately. If possible, I correct the situation. If it cannot be corrected, I admit being wrong and just move forward. I see no point in feeling guilty for ages because it sucks so much energy and the outcome is zero. May be because I do not carry the feeling of guilt around, people never feel guilty with me. Probably that makes people comfortable – for it is the ego that makes others feel quilty, while the self-confindece makes other feel respected.

Well by saying all that I do not claim this the ultimate truth🙂 May be I am wrong and there are some other reasons behind this self-confidence. But at least this is my guess.

LOVE, and loads of it, my dear ones!

  1. YOU ARE RIGHT. KNOWING THE SELF IS THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE. WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME PURSUIT. THE PERCENTAGE MAY VARY.WITH THE BLESSINGS OF THE ALMIGHTY SURELY ALL OF US WILL AND SHOULD KNOW OR RATHER REALIZE THE SELF ONE DAY.

  2. As you realize the most amazing quality of your own, this gives you the power to have self confidence. So i want to congratulate you for this.

  3. Sharing your feelings in public catches people by surprise. But people love it!! Most people are afraid to show their vulnerability, so when you show yours it helps others realize they’re not alone. That’s a very freeing emotion.

I must’ve missed that day in class where they taught that it was bad to show weakness. But the truth is we all feel the ups and downs of life — and that’s okay! Thanks for not being afraid to be yourself and to share with all🙂

      • Improving your self esteem and building up your confidence will greatly enhance your life. Your relationship with your loved ones will hit a new high and your interaction with those about you both at work and at play will become much smoother and more pleasurable.

  4. Jeanett Brunderman Says:

Self esteem is your own personal view of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Everyone has a different view of themselves, but keeping a positive outlook will benefit you more than a negative one. Many individuals suffer from low self esteem for a variety of reasons and need to build their self esteem in order to succeed in life. Remember, the only one who can make you excel is you and no one else. The same goes for self esteem. The only person who can build up?or consequentially tear down?your self esteem is you. Although other individuals may aide the process, the end decision is yours..
