Prague – the city of round corners (my weekend trip photo impressions) June 29, 2009

The capital of Czech Republic, Prague is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Some say it can even bet Vienna and after visiting it for the first time I can admit – Prague is awesome!

It used to be an important political and cultural center in Europe and sill it is not boasting its importance like some other beautiful cities do… Prague, like the Czech people themselves, remains a humble and yet magnificent charm, a balanced combination of the Slavic and German characters.

I would call Prague “the city of round corners” – see for yourself why:

The dangers of Sahaja yoga meditation practice June 26, 2009

Recently many of my friends and acquaintances all of a sudden got a genuine interest in practicing Sahaja yoga meditation- apparently because they have been watching me since years and came to a conclusion it must be a good thing because it makes me so happy and my life so easy. Generally there seems to be a growing interest in Sahaja yoga meditation practice worldwide and I believe it is important to make the interested population aware of some dangers in connection with it.

Danger Nr.1

After some time of Sahaja yoga mediation practice you will find out that communication with many people will become difficult as you will not be able to keep up the favourite topic of all conversations – the moaning. That can become a real problem if you are not a skillful conversation leader – why should you keep up a totally boring and useless conversation at the time when you know what to do about the problems (interestingly some people seem not to be interested in solutions but only in moaning).

Danger Nr.2

After some time of Sahaja yoga meditation practice you will find out that your life will change and all the happenings, people and nature around will start bubbling with colours. The number of happy coincidences and amount of luck will grow. At the same time something else can start growing – namely the jealousy of people. Some people may start having serious difficulties with you becoming “too positive”.

Danger Nr 3

After some time of Sahaja yoga meditation practice you will find out that the true value of all things is the vibrational one.You will start enjoying only things that have been created with love, attention, with the quality of heart and soul. Immediately you will know which object, music, or information is valuable for you and will do you good – literary in seconds you will be able to percept and revise huge bites of information with the right solution and answer for every situation (compared to this the famous sixth sense wearable device is peanuts)

Danger Nr.4

After some time of Sahaja yoga meditation practice you will notice that more and more people feel attracted to you – some can mistake it for the physical attraction but the true reason for that is your increasing freshness and loveliness. Regular sahaja meditation has some interesting impact on a meditator as: glowing eyes, softer skin and beaming face. All that will be consciously or unconsciously recognised by the people you meet. The possible danger for you here: will you be able to deal with your increasing popularity? (more…)

I should have everything that is good, genuine and beautiful! June 23, 2009

“I should have everything that is good, genuine and beautiful!”

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791)

Those who are familiar with Mozart life story and character will immediately recognize him in these words. He was not only a genius but something much more… The vibrations of his death place are tremendous like of a swaymbhu… Very special! Apparently they say that his horoscope at the death point was even more impressive than of the birthday. That may mean that he could not only fulfill his life mission but had given us something much more…the eternal character of the music.

I would claim that of all western classical composers Mozart is the only one whose music does not awaken emotions and does not make one think (normally the Western classical music is conceptual, full of thoughts and emotions).

I believe his music has almost the same impact as the classical Indian music – it awakens the happy spirit, washes thoughts away and makes one feel light and joyful.

But that is not all! You must have heard of “Mozart effect” :

The concept of the “Mozart effect” was described by French researcher, Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis in his 1991 book Pourquoi Mozart?. He used the music of Mozart in his efforts to “retrain” the ear, and believed that listening to the music presented at differing frequencies helped the ear, and promoted healing and the development of the brain. Want to live longer? – find a purpose in life, a new study shows. June 22, 2009

I love the scientific evidence of things that seem logical to me. Here is another good piece of news I want to share with you:

“It can be anything — from wanting to accomplish a goal in life, to achieving something in a volunteer organization, to as little as reading a series of books,” said study author Dr. Patricia Boyle, a neuropsychologist at the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and an assistant professor of behavioral sciences at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

We found that people who reported a greater level of purpose in life were substantially less likely to die over the follow-up period — only about half as likely to die over the follow-up period — as compared to people with a lower level of purpose,” Boyle said. The follow-up period averaged nearly three years.

Boyle and her colleagues studied 1,238 older adults already participating in two ongoing research studies at Rush, the Rush Memory and Aging Project and the Minority Aging Research Study. The participants were all dementia-free when the study began and averaged 78 years old.

At the start of the study, the participants answered questions about their purpose in life, rating themselves on different areas meant to measure the tendency to derive meaning from life and to feel that one is working toward goals. (more…)

I took a flight over Eastern Europe last week – unfortunately or fortunately over a day time and the realtively clear sky.

Taking off or landing in a sunset or sunrise would have been more interesting (see my last year dramartic shots here)

Still I have managed to capture some lovely skyscapes, please enjoy:

The nature of impressions we get from things is nothig else but vibrations June 19, 2009

I came across this text of my favorite saint Hazrat Inayat Khan and was stunned how accurate he was describing something what the practitioners of Sahaja meditation know from their daily experiences – but he was describing it before 1927!

Isn’t it great that something that has been known and accessible only to the few in the earlier times, now is easily available to everyone?!..

Enjoy the saint’s experiences:

“There are many ancient places where one finds stones engraved, woods carved with some artistic designs. Sometimes there are letters engraved on the rock of a mountain, on a stone; letters which today no one can read. Yet one endowed with the gift of intuition can read them from the vibrations, from the atmosphere, from the feeling that comes from them. Outwardly, they are engravings, inwardly they are a continual record, a talking record which is always expressing what is written upon it. No traveller with intuitive faculties open will deny the fact that in the lands of ancient traditions he will have seen numberless places which, so to speak, sing aloud the legend of their past.

One sees the same in the atmosphere of the trees in the forests, in the gardens, which also express the past – the impressions that have been given to them by those who sat under them. Often people have superstitions about a tree being haunted, and this one finds much more in the East. Actually a vibration has been created, consciously or unconsciously, by someone who has lived there, who has taken shelter under the tree and pondered upon a certain thought, upon a certain feeling which the tree has taken up, and which the tree is expressing. Perhaps the person has forgotten about it, but the tree is still repeating the thought that has been given to it; for the tree can express the voice that was put into it more clearly than a rock.

In tropical countries where in ancient times people used to travel on foot through the forests and woods, and take shelter under a certain tree, all that they thought and felt has been taken up by the tree. Those with intuitive faculties open have heard it more clearly than if they had heard it from a living person.

One finds the same thing among animals, the pet animals which live and partake thought and feeling through their contact with man. There especially exists a superstition about horses. Those who know horses are very particular in buying one which has good vibrations, apart from considering its health and breed. Often a horse of a very good breed and perfectly sound may prove to be unlucky. The reason is that the disappointment of someone who has been riding upon this horse has been left there, recorded upon the heart of the horse. Perhaps the condition of the person has changed, but that which the horse has kept is still continuing. (more…)

Even if you are an angel… June 18, 2009

Even if you are an Angel, there will always be someone who doesn’t like the sound of your wings rustling….

I don’t know whose sentence is it (found on Russian Internet), but the phrase stroke me with its beauty and truth.

May be because some people prefer the darker side of life, sometimes they are irritated by too much of light and goodness. Sometimes  I have to experience it -seldom but still. Every time a surprise!

Russian beauties June 16, 2009

Russians are proud of their beautiful women (read more about it here).

This time on my trip to Moscow I thought of making a post about typical Russian female faces and realised that … “Matröshkas” represent it the best!

Here is a small collection of images that reflect the beauty of the Russian female soul…

Intercultural differences seen from airplane June 15, 2009

Everylity time I take off in Vienna, I am fascinated by the structured geometry of the Austrian fields.

Love for clear lines and order is probably the reflection of the German blood in the Austrian character. Just look at this snap I took yesterday:

Amazing, isn’t it?

Just one hour by car away from Vienna we find Slovakia, a small Slavic country. It shares the same main river Danube with Austria, but obviously not much of Austrian mentality: (more…)

Someone who wants the world to remain as it is does not want it to remain. June 11, 2009

I saw this poster on a Vienna street and could not but share it with you. Powerful sentence, isn’t it?
Someone who wants the world to remain as it is does not want it to remain. Erich Fried (1921-88), Austrian writer
