1000 petals by axinia

the only truth I know is my own experience

A unique blog about Russia July 2, 2008

image by axinia (landing in Moscow)

How many good things do you know about Russia? If you google “Russia positive”  – you will find mostly the news about HIV positives in Russia , if you try it with Google page on “Good Russia”  – there are more sceptical than really good news either.

Russia has been and still is a mystery for the rest of the world. Basically it lays on the Russia`s national policy: as a self-sufficient country, Russia sees no need in self-promotion (as some other countries do). That is why so much of the fascinating information remains unknown to the non-Russian speaking people.

Seeing all that, and actually being fed up with the negative news on Russia, I decided to start a special project – a multy-authors Blog under the title “1000 things you never knew about Russia”.  Actually I was planning a post “10 things about Russia you never knew”, but discovered that 10 are too less – these are innumerate facts and interesting observations… May be I will still start with this post here, on 1000petals – but the blog will be created too!

I am looking for the co-authors (Russians who can write in English) or Russophiles 🙂 It can become a big thing, and a very valuable source for many researches and just curious souls. It wonder if it would be possible to make such a blog to the opinion leader in the field or  – another possibility –  if would be possibly banned (even by WordPress, like this one – an American writing about Russian Women)…

So basically that was a short promotion of something that does not exist yet 🙂 Hope with your support I will find out how good this idea actually is.

Thanks and LOVE, axinia

  1. I am a Russophile 🙂 and I would like to join you in this brilliant idea, but I don’t know Russian and my knowledge about Russia is quite limited 😦

Good idea. Am not russian, infact African and one of the things i know about Russia is that many Hackers come from there. Also I know the weather is very cold and the government is a bit communist in Nature and also there’s a usual competiton between Russian and Americans

@ Raj, that is very generous of you! 🙂
If you really want to contribute, you can write something on the relationships between Russia and India (or the attitude of Indians to Russians), this could be really good!!
and, by the way – what makes you to Russophile? why? 🙂

@Adewale, thanks for sharing it, that is very intresting! – that shows well the need of some light on the topic. For examply, it is not cold in RUssia – at least not everywhere and not all the time!!! 🙂

  4. Thanks, Axinia 🙂 I’ll definitely contribute as soon as your start the blog. I am a Russophile because Russia has a very important role to play in maintaining world peace and stability. And the Russian way of thinking is very different from the Western as well as the Eastern ways. Russia is the bridge between the West and the East! Ofcourse, Russia is also the successor to the former U.S.S.R. Without the U.S.S.R., the world would have been a very different place now. Infact, it would have been a terrible place! Europe developed social democracy only because it was scared that socialism of the Soviet kind would spread to Western Europe!

Raj, I am honestly impressed by your profound knowledge on the subject!
Sure, I will be happy about your contributions. Thank you.

    Privet My Lovely Axinia 🙂

I truly appreciate your endorsement and support for “Russian Women the Real Truth”.

I love the fact that both of our blogs touch on such a mysterious and beautiful part of humanity and that is simply what we observe in classic beauty and traditional women.

I don’t get lots of time to explore other blogs unfortunately but please notify me if and when you post something related to this subject and of course I’d be more then happy to share it with my readers too.

    Thanks again!!

GL, I was actually aming to ask you to me a contributer for the new blog – although you are not Russian, but a great Russophile (experienced and dedicated one)… axinia
