I just discovered PicLens for me and immediately want to share with all of you – wow! It is truly amazing!
Those who love beautiful stuff from the Image and Video world – you will LOVE PicLens!!!
Some technical information:
PicLens instantly transforms your browser into a full-screen, 3D experience for viewing images on the web. Photos will come to life via a cinematic presentation that goes well beyond the confines of the traditional browser window.
PicLens is a web browser plugin that provides interactive full-screen slideshows of online images. The plugin is available for Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer. At present, the software is compatible with Google Images, Yahoo Images, Ask.com Images, deviantART, Flickr, Facebook, Live Image Search, Photobucket, SmugMug, YouTube (for videos), and any web site that implements mediaRSS <link> tags in their HTML pages. The software places a small icon in the corner of an image thumbnail when the mouse moves over it, which launches into a full-screen photo viewer when clicked, but without giving an option to save any of the pictures shown.
I guess I can spend hours literaly gluet to the scree watching the wonders of nature, travel-reports or whatever in this very precial PicLens mood. Whoever made it (in fact, the company with the cool name – COOLIRIS), it is a great job, guys! 🙂

As an interaction designer, I would recommend the use of PicLens. Makes photo\video searching very pleasurable. It’s great for viewing albums – on Picasa, Flickr, or Facebook – you can quickly scan through the image wall and maximize the interesting ones.
I have been using piclens since feb’08. I found it very easy to use whenever I had to search images. Recently they have added youtube and that was awesome…Hey there is this tab called IE-tab which allows you to switch from firefox to IE interface without opening IE. The advantage is that you can access websites which are supported only by IE not by firefox. This is really cool. Hope u would like this…peace xx Ravi.
