I feel like a WordPress warrior! January 29, 2008

It has been since 1,5 years that I am blogging at WordPress. I have to admit that I never tried any other blogging platform, so my feeling is obviously of a very subjective matter.

My passion about Wordpess has developed with the growth of Wordpres itself and with my ability to use it and to apply this great media to so many things in my life.

So what fascinates me about WordPress that much?

 – great community and it`s support (WordPress News, etc.)

 – absense of adsens!!!!

– easy usage and still sophisticated look

possibility to use a blog for something very different that typical blogging– like the organisation/coordination of a congress! (more…)

The winter sky

I love to watch the sky… When I was a child I thought of taking a sunset picture a day of the same place. How interesting it would be to have a colletion of 365 pictures reflecting all kinds of different sunsets… Fascinating!

But the time passed and I never managed to make this collection, also because it is impossible for me to stay the whole year at one place. Instead, I use every possibility to shoot the sky if I have my camera with me. To share this beauty with you 🙂

INDIA: the spiritual home January 27, 2008

In my life I meet lots of people of spiritual nature, I guess there must be hundreds or even thousands of them I know personally. Wherever I am, I naturally feel attracted to people of spiritual nature even if they do not appear so at first sight.

Interestingly all these people belong to different races and religions. But if at some point of talk we come to the topic of INDIA it turns out that many of them have been to India or planning to go there! And so many who have been there say the same thing: India feels like home…

This gallery is from my Indian collection and I called it “India Eternal”

The reason might be that the deep spirituality that has been established in India long before the rest of the world started developing. All these sages, rishis, munis and yogis have established the culture of devotion and meditation that has been obviously understood and respected in the society. On my last trip to India (more…)

Things that make us thoughtlessly aware January 24, 2008

There are moments in life that surely familiar to everyone: the moments when the thoughts vanish in front of something amazing, breathtaking, incredibly beautiful or awesome… These are the moments that are so precious, because they relax our mind and for some seconds set us free from the overpowering thoughts. Like this sunset that I captured the other day over the city of Vienna.

Some other things that can also relax our mind could be the following:

– beautiful landscapes

– beautiful flowers and plants

– children (playing, laughing, being busy with something, etc.)

– music (in my case it is either Indian Classical or Western Classical music) (more…)

Top 10 posts at 1000petals January 22, 2008

It is almost one year since the start of 1000petals, this colourful e-baby 🙂

Out of 170 posts I have chosen the top 10 – according to your, Google and WordPress ranking. These 10 became most popular for various reasons – however there is one thing that makes them similar: they all have some unique content that is probably not to be found in many sources (if any). Or if not for the content, then for the attitude, some very personal and different from the common one.

This fact makes me very happy, for it is exactly the reason why I am blogging so passionately: to share with you my insights, knowledge and experiences that make my life so happy and so fulfilled…

1000 thanks for your support and appreciation! And now… everybody`s darlings:

1. 2012: only 5 years to get ready for the Doomsday?

I remember reading about apocalyptical scenario 2012 one year ago: being a natural optimist I could not believe that dusky destiny. Being a realistic and scientifically-oriented person, I am not inclined to trust any prophecies either. Recently I´ve read a scientifically based article on 2012 which literally has rocked my imagination and awareness.

2. GENERATION S

They live almost the same life as others. You will not check them out of the crowd by their funny dress – they look quite ordinary. They behave as normal, nice people – you will not notice anything special at first sight. However a little more attentive look will identify this new generation.

3. 10 Reasons Why I Practise Sahaja Yoga

It’s easy.
I don’t have to spend years living in the mountains to achieve enlightenment. I don’t have to give up anything or spend weeks in silence. I don’t have to learn mantras or wear special clothes or even try to clear my mind. The meditation simply happens spontaneously. The classes are easy and fun, and as long as I keep up my daily ten minutes of meditation I find I am able to achieve a deep and peaceful meditation on a regular basis.

4. Why women love generous men

Most women love generous men. At least I never met any who does not (please let me know if you are a woman and disagree with that). Are men actually aware of that fact? And if not than why? Because the ladies keep silent on the topic? (more…)

If you love people, their lives improve! January 21, 2008

Another exiting thing I discovered recently: the power of love in action.

If you love a person (I mean not the romantic love but the true human love you can feel towards anyone), what happens is that your attention flows toward this person. Whenever you think of that person, it is only the energy of love that flows into him/her… Than again, because of your loving attention you just notice the things a person needs or wants, and you enjoy arranging for that things for this person. These are tiny little things, a bit of attention here and there, but what comes up is truly amazing: (more…)

What marriage really does to people January 16, 2008

I am a passionate believer in the marriage institution. I posted already several articles on that fascinating topic, but some new ideas keep coming up. So let me continue with praising this truly beautiful and deep form of human relationships.

Despite the growing anti-marriage tendencies in the society and general crisis of this institution, the sacredness of marriage keeps attracting people of all cultures. There are several reasons I can think of in that respect, the reasons I described already in “Marriage: made in heaven”. This time I want to share with you one more reason, which is obviously not that well known, although lays on the surface of the subject.

In a marriage people become (blood)-relatives! – not only that they become officially recognised as a couple, but they start being seen as people naturally RELATED to each other. In Russian there is a special word for it, “rodnoy” which means somebody who is of your own blood. Continue reading ‘What marriage really does to people’

2 things about Indians I love the most January 12, 2008

Only two things? In fact, I have got a list of them. But these two just make my heart melt…

SWEETNESS: Indians are incredibly sweet. The way they move their heads saying “yes” or enjoying something. The way they laugh… Oh, that open-hearted smiles and laughs!…The way they try to cheat you (some of them really do!)… Thy way they try to hide a childlike heart behind a business-like mask… And, finally, the unforgettable sweetness of their manner of talking, the melody of an Indian voice!… Simply enchanting.

COLORS: Indians love colors, they are made out of colors. Even their temples look like sweet colorful cakes. Colors reflect the joy of their hearts. And even though the life can be hard on many of them, they never wear that heavy expression of suffering on their beautiful faces (like Russians do :))

Enjoy my sliding galery of India`s images:
