If you need love… June 5, 2007

People always need something: attention, pleasure, money, love… Some fight for that. Some work hard. Some just wait for these things to come.

There is nothing much new in what I am going to tell you now, but it could be a good reminder.

Whatever we desire (appreciation, power, money) it is finally all about getting LOVE. Everything else is just the instrument or the means.

I remember reading one very wise quotation- could not find the source then – that says something like that:

As easy as that. Have you ever tried it out?

In fact, it can be applied to any other “needs”:

If you need money – support with the little you have the one who needs it more.

If you need appreciation – praise people!

If you need power – use the power of love!

I believe many people do function this way and follow this rule, if not consciously than unconsciously.

Are you one of them?

LOVE, axinia

  1. You have looked at the issue “love vs money”, “love vs power” (vs – as they are traditionally potrayed like this) from an interesting angle – the two sides of one medal. Thank you!

    thanks, eternalvalues,
I believe everything starts and ends with love.
Or – btter to say – never ends 🙂

  3. love

these things are just to give away and not to ask for..
because asking will not help.. and if it does.. it will not be genuine form of either..

i wish things were as simple as you outlined them to be.

if they were, though, i think i’ll be eternally happy BUT bored with life, the universe, and everything in general.

    Dear liz,
i guess I see what you mean 🙂

But let me tell you something.

I dare to say that I am eternally happy since many, many years.
Only once in my life i had a depression and that was very useful, as I realised how others could feel in that horrible state. Would you say depressions make our life interesting?

Being a happy person (but not in thas stupid branded image) I -of cause!- experience all possible situations in my life, and learn every day.

BUT: I enjoy every moment, I enjoy the stupidity of evil and the beauty of good…It is so comfortable and fascinating!

Yes, this is the right word: the life becomes fascinating and so intensive, so fresh and so amazing!…

You will see for yourself when you will have it one day 🙂

My other post could explain it better:

Nice reminder that every one needs once in a while to kep the ballance in life. nice thoughts.

  7. Beautiful photo and post, Axinia.

What you say is true. Only by giving something can we get it back. What goes around comes around.

“Only once in my life i had a depression and that was very useful, as I realised how others could feel in that horrible state. Would you say depressions make our life interesting?”

I’ve had a depression once as well 😐 when everything in the world seemed to go against me 😦 It affected me to a certain extent but I decided not to let the stupid thing get the better of me. I looked inward and decided to draw strength from within me to fight this stupid thing. I was only the better for it as it only made me several times stronger mentally. If we know how to get the better of a depression, it will not affect us again (unless it is caused by a severe medical condition). I would say depression is like chicken-pox, once we experience it and our mind develops resistance to the stupid thing, it should not affect us again 🙂

beautiful post “) sometimes when you give love, there are those which don’t take it and leave you heart broken…but that too is a part of love… 😀

    An alien Earthling,

on depression: you view is of a typical right-sider 🙂 I know quite a few depressive people (depression is very common in the west, you know) – and NONE of them would agree that it is possible to develop a resistance to depression… In fact, depression is not easy to cure bacause it is deeply rooted in the subconsciousness and keeps coming back if one does not work out the left side. That is my observation so far…

love hurts, but it means it was no a pure, but selfish love (as soon as you are exepcing something back it is not really pure, righ?) The true Love which is unconditional can not but give and enjoy giving…the rest does not matter.

  10. Yes, I’ve heard that depression is very common in the West, Axinia, but India is fast catching up, if the suicide rates are anything to go by 😦

I’m not sure if medicines are the correct way to cure depression. It is a state of the mind (unless it is caused by a medical condition) and medicines can cure only bodily conditions. The medicines that I took for a short time had absolutely no effect and made things more complicated. It was only after I rebelled against taking medicines 🙂 and found a way myself did things improve.

  11. axinia Says:

lucky you 🙂 it is a rare case…

  12. Yes, I guess I was lucky that it was not a case of severe depression, Axinia 😐 I feel very sorry for those who suffer from severe depression, especially if it keeps recurring in intervals 😦

Axinia, I am reminded of a quote too. Here it is:

A man without ambition is dead.
A man with ambition but no love is dead.
A man with ambition and love for his blessings
here on earth is ever so alive.

Shouldn’t we be driven by the desire for something beyond love, say, beauty.
Because people have a confined meaning for love.

(I just realized I am in a time wrap….june ’07!! Nice trick 🙂 But that red rose has timeless beauty).

  14. axinia Says:

Swaps, beauty goes hand in hand in love, I am convinced…And love make thing and people beautiful. thanks for the nice contirubution!

P.S. I have noticed that it works well when I post my old posts – they are not bad and mostly unknown to those readers who have found me later.. enjoy!
